With the advent of inexpensive, connected compute platforms with locatiion ability, the game has changed. Our software applications are no longer dedicated, nor stationary, nor alone.

There are so many possibilities, so many opportunities. While no one is quite prepared for this near-future, our years of consumer and portable system development does give us a head start. Here are some of the areas that we are focused on exploring:

  • Micro-tagged content - whether video, audio or text, location metadata may relate to only a portion of the content. We are exploring ways of adorning, searching and utilizing such information.
  • 3D presentation - exploring how multi-touch and 3D can interact and create fun new worlds.
  • Local Social Networking - enabling these devices to become gateways for interacting with each other locally.

The cell phone, connected media player, and netbook become tools for living our daily lives. While we don't yet have the perfect device, feature set or form factor, there are some things we can say about these new apps.

  • Ubiquitous access - wherever we are, whatever device we use, the app must be available. While features may be limited by the platform, it must still be useful.
  • Right fit - work with what the platform offers. The core logic might be the same, but interaction and presentation will be very different.
  • Flowing - not a collection of functions and features. Does something important in a natural way.
  • Boundless - It is not important nor is it obvious where our applications do their work and store their data. Movement of data and function throughout is unobtrusive.

Contact us if you think your we might be fellow travelers or if we can help you get there
